Regulating AI

#31

The most significant piece of legislation in the AI space has been approved this week. After a marathon session the EU AI Act is now in approved form with key elements coming in to force over the next two years. In other news, we come across Ashley, the AI campaigner and talk neurology exams amongst other things. Let’s dive in…

Tool

This week, I want to highlight plugins. These are applications that ChatGPT allows to interface with its core programme to perform actions. For example, you might use the Open Table plugin to have ChatGPT research and book a table at a new restaurant or use the Expedia plugin to book vacations. There are hundereds now available in the plugin store, but I’ve compiled a list of the top 45 for you here:

Give some of them a try. I’d be happy to hear how you get on with them.

Prompt

Prompting is getting more and more sophisticated with each passing day. The notion that you can get great output from AI without great input is long gone. When OpenAI launched their GPT’s in November, they were essentially allowing us to build all the context required into the model to get the best out of it in a specific area. Here is an example of one that I created to give specific advice on business growth using the tools and strategies developed by several leading exponents of the art. With that direct training and expertise, any question that I ask of it is answering with that context as it’s guide. Even if you don’t have a business, click the link, ask it a business question (pretend you have a coffee shop that you want to scale for example) and get great results.
